6 Simple Ways to Get Rid of Wrinkles On Hands

Hands, like every other part of our body, need special care and attention. Although ageing can cause wrinkles on hands, here are some tips that can help us prevent wrinkles on hands or, at least, keep them minimal.

Drink Plenty Of Water

Water is your best friend, quite literally! Dehydration is the biggest cause of dry hands, and dry hands lead to wrinkles. Always keep yourself hydrated.

Apply Sunblock

Most of us apply sunblock only on our face. However, it is necessary to apply it on all the parts of the body that are exposed to the sun. Hands, in general, get exposed to the sun as much as our face does, so here’s a friendly reminder to apply sunblock on your hands! Apply it 20 minutes before stepping out into the sun, and reapply it after two to three hours. On the Indian skin tone, an SPF of around 30 and above is more than enough.

A lot of people feel that sunblock makes their skin look and feel oily. In that case, use a sunblock that has a matte finish, or dab a little bit talcum powder on to soak up the excess moisture. Remember to wear sunblock even when it is cloudy outside and indoors.

Moisturise Your Hands

A moisturiser goes a long way in helping us achieve good skin. A lot of people believe that moisturisers are not required for oily skin, which is not true. Use a mild moisturiser on oily skin. For combination skin, it is important to moisturise areas that are typically very dry.

Follow A Good Night Care Routine

While you probably have a proper nighttime routine for your face, it’s important to have one for your hands too. Moisturising hands with a hand cream or petroleum jelly is a good idea. It stays on the skin for the whole night and, thus, gets absorbed properly. You can check for ingredients like glycol acid or hyaluronic acid in your cream.

Wash Your Hands Rather Than Use Sanitisers

Sanitisers have become an essential now. It’s definitely important to carry one with you. However, if you have an option of washing your hands with soap and water, take that over using a sanitiser. Sanitiser dries out the hands, which can cause wrinkles and fine lines. And, now that our hands are over exposed to sanitisers, make sure to keep your hands moisturised all the time
